Engineer / Coach Driver

COMPANY: Radical USA Indianapolis

JOB TITLE: Engineer / Coach Driver

LOCATION: 499 Southpoint Circle, Suite 105 Brownsburg, IN 46112

JOB TYPE: Full-Time 

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager 

DESCRIPTION: 

Graham Rahal Performance is looking for a qualified engineer / coach driver to join our team. This role will be a vital member of our traveling racing organization that competes in the Radical Cup Series. Must be able to attend all racing and test events.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a leadership role; responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

·  Optimization of on-track performance of the team at each event and throughout the championship.

·  Maintaining the vehicle setup database and determining a starting setup.

·  Preparation of a weekend run plan, test item lists, and work lists.

·  Management of tires and tire preparation for each event

·  Direct communication to the drivers and ensuring they are performing at their best, providing direct feedback for improvement.

·  In cooperation with the lead Mechanic, ensure that the car is always in full technical compliance.

·  Ensure that technicians are always informed, i.e.. run plan review, preparation and pre-fits of test items, tire plan, etc...

·  Management and execution of long-term development items and engineering tasks to continually push the program forward.

Race Weekend Tasks:

  • Maintain run log of all changes that occur with the car.
  • Work closely with drivers and lead mechanics providing ideas, feedback and support.
  • Fuel Mileage during the race event.
  • Work with team mechanics as required completing all tasks (loading, car work, etc.).
  • Proved feedback and driving coaching from car data along with video.

Mechanic

COMPANY: Radical USA Indianapolis

JOB TITLE: Mechanic

LOCATION: Fly-In

JOB TYPE: Full-Time 

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager 

DESCRIPTION: 

Mechanics will work in the race shop to assemble and prepare cars for races, tests, and client demonstration events. In this position, the mechanic will be required to learn mechanical procedures and techniques along with component inspection and preparation. The goal of this position will be for the mechanic to operate without direct supervision. Graham Rahal Performance is looking for full-time and fly in help for events.  Most meals on the road will be provided and will include a daily per diem.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean and inspect suspension components (control arms, steering, etc.).
  • Clean and inspect engine ancillary components (plumbing, radiators, etc.).
  • Clean and inspect interior components (seats, steering columns, etc.)
  • Disassemble cars (suspension, engine, and interior components) as required.
  • Install suspension components, front and rear.
  • Install interior and driver-related safety components.
  • Trim and install various components.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Clean work areas daily.
  • Perform chassis set ups, engine changes, rebuild components.
  • Meeting specified deadlines while executing a high level of racing car preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills
  • 1-3 years of mechanical experience; automotive, heavy equipment, etc. is preferred.
  • Equivalent mechanical experience from other technical disciplines will be considered.
  • Previous experience on a racing team is preferred.
  • Trade school experience preferred.
  • Automotive certifications preferred.
  • Must be able to lift more than 20 lbs.

IT Professional

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager 

DESCRIPTION: 

Graham Rahal Performance is looking for a qualified mechanic/wiring technician to join our team. This role will be a vital member of our traveling racing organization that competes in the Radical Cup Series. Must be able to attend all racing and test events.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repairing, and maintaining motorsport looms and harnesses.
  • Managing, programming, and maintaining radios.
  • Maintaining inventory of looms and sensors with the systems engineers.
  • Working with System Engineers to have stable and reliable communication to the car.
  • Aid in trackside IT network setup, maintenance, and configuration and general IT tasks.
  • Meeting specified deadlines for race car preparation while executing a high level of race car preparation.
  • Making the necessary adjustments to the car according to established procedures for each race and test event by collaborating with managers, lead mechanics, drivers, and engineers to meet design specifications and achieve desired results.
  • Work in support of all mileage tracking and parts management programs. Supply build sheets and mileage sheets and input data into these programs.
  • Professionally represent the team and its sponsors on and off-track premises.

Qualifications:

  • At track position experience preferred.
  • Required experience repairing and maintaining motorsports looms and harnesses.
  • Ability to travel internationally required.
  • Preferred experience with Radio / Intercom systems, programming, and maintenance.
  • General IT and networking experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with all team members.
  • Be able to interpret and follow set-up designs for individual races and test events.

Truck Driver

DESCRIPTION: 

Graham Rahal Performance transport drivers are full-time, year-round opportunities driving for our Radical Racing team is priority, along with driving for Graham Rahal Performance jobs. Our transport drivers are expected to always represent the company in a professional manner while working on the road and in the shops. As a transport driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting cars and associated equipment, tools and materials to and from race and/or test venues for race related events. This position requires fluctuating weekday and weekend work based on event schedules; home time will vary. When not driving for race or test events, our transport drivers work in the shop preparing the transporter and equipment for upcoming events.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Load and unload equipment, etc.

  • Inventory management for the transporter and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and general presentation of the transporter for the team and guests.
  • Follow all applicable DOT, DMV, State and Federal highway safety rules and regulations.
  • Meet schedules, timelines, deadlines appropriately and safely.
  • Present self in an appropriate/professional manner while transporting and at venues.
  • Ensure the truck is in safe operating condition.
  • Complete all logs and records in a timely manner; may be responsible for expense reporting to accounting per company guidelines.

Qualifications:

·  Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).

  • Must provide or be able to obtain a current Medical Examiner's Safety Certificate.
  • Must have a clean driving record and satisfactory background check.
  • Must have a professional and presentable work ethic.
  • Professional motorsports experience preferred; will consider other driving experience such as car hauler driving.
  • Able to lift 60lbs independently.
  • Able to maneuver inside tight confinements within the transporter and other areas.
  • Able to sustain 10 or more hours consecutive time on feet.
  • Must be able to work the complete race and test schedule; weekend work is required.
  • Must be able to work in the shop when not driving OTR; no fly-in work available.
